What Documents are Required for NSP Scholarship Application?
To apply for the NSP scholarship, the student must have the following documents:
- Last Qualifying Exam Mark Sheet
- Valid Cast Certificate
- Valid Income Certificate
- Bank Passbook (Bank account must be linked to the Aadhar number)
- Fee Receipt Number
- Enrollment Number
- Aadhar Card Number
- Latest Passport Size Scan Photo
- For Renewal Candidates: Use last year registration number to login to the renewal section and enter the fresh details
1. System Overview
This section explains the different modules students can access on the NSP portal:
- Authentication: Verify identity during registration.

Pre-requisites for Application
Before starting the application, students should have:
- Mobile Number (Android-based)
- Basic Personal Details (name, gender, date of birth, parent's names, domicile state)
- Academic Records: 10th and 12th class details (roll number, percentage, marksheets)
- Other Documents: Ration card, Aadhaar, Domicile certificates, etc.
- Aadhaar Details or alternatives like enrollment ID or Parent's Aadhaar (if minor).
2. Student Modules
This is the main part of the manual, detailing how students use the portal.
2.1 One-Time Registration (OTR)
This is how students create their account on the portal. The registration involves several steps:
- General Instructions: Follow on-screen instructions to start.
- Register Mobile Number: Input mobile number and verify with OTP.
- eKYC Update: There are three options for eKYC:
- Using Aadhaar.
- Using EID (Aadhaar enrollment ID).
- Using Parent’s Aadhaar (for minors).
- Finish: After completing the eKYC, registration is done.
2.2 Login
Once registered, students log in with their OTR ID (sent via email or SMS) and Date of Birth. Captcha must also be entered. Upon login, students see a confirmation pop-up.
2.3 My Applications
This page lists all applications the student has started. If a student is applying for the first time, the page will show options to:
- Apply Fresh: Begin a new application (for scholarship or incentives).
- My Application: View existing applications and track their status.
2.3.1 Apply Fresh
Students start a new application by selecting "I Agree" after reading the terms and conditions. Then, they:
- Choose Domicile State and Scholarship Category.
- Fill in required details and submit.
2.3.2 Fill Application
The application form is divided into several sections:
- General Information: Personal and address details.
- Academic Details: Information about the current course and past education.
- Search Institute: Students can search their institute/school using name, AISHE/ITI (NCVT), or UDISE code.
- Competitive Exam Details: Details of any qualifying exams.
- Scheme Available: Based on the student’s eligibility, the available scholarships are displayed.
- Upload Documents: Students upload required documents like marksheets and certificates.
Finally, after reviewing and completing the application, students submit the form. Final submission cannot be changed, so accuracy is important.
2.4 Withdraw Application
Students can withdraw their application at any time unless it has been approved by the second-level officer (L2) or if the scholarship payment has been released.
To withdraw:
- Click "Submit/Withdraw/Revoke" from the My Applications page.
- Select the reason for withdrawal, and confirm.
2.5 My Profile
This section allows students to view and edit their profile, including personal information, contact details, and academic records.
2.6 Helpdesk
If students need assistance, they can reach the helpdesk by email (helpdesk@nsp.gov.in) or by phone (0120 - 6619540). Helpdesk is available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

NSP Scholarship 2024 Eligibility Criteria
To avail themselves of the scholarship offered by the central/state government, students need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria, including their financial status, educational background, and other factors. Some of these criteria are listed below:
- Annual household income from all sources cannot exceed Rs 2,50,000 (It may vary from scheme to scheme).
- The students must qualify the last exam.
